After the outbreak of war in February 1942, the father of a large family was drafted by the Molotov RVK into the 581st Infantry Regiment of the 151st Infantry Division - a rifleman. He twice fell into German captivity and twice escaped from it together with his colleague. For the first time, they managed to escape from captivity on the territory of Ukraine, but a few days later they were found by German soldiers with dogs and returned to the prisoners. On the way to the camp, they were not fed, they ate whatever they had to - potatoes and rye ears from uncleared roadside fields. He spent 8 months in a German camp in Bila Tserkva, Kiev region. After his release, he returned to the Soviet troops. I met the victory in Berlin. According to order No. 15 / n of October 14, 1943, he was awarded the medal "For Military Merit": in the period from August 1 to October 3, he carried domestic weapons from the battlefield and evacuated to the rear (30 rifles, 50 gas masks, 10 light machine guns, 2 anti-tank guns), 2 carts of ammunition, buried 17 Soviet soldiers, four provided medical assistance. In 1945 he was awarded the medal "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945." During the years spent at the front, he was twice wounded, with a splinter in his eye he lived his whole life, his vision was preserved, but the eye changed color. Demobilized on August 15, 1945.
