From January 1944 he took part in battles on the 3rd Ukrainian Front, where on February 13, 1944 he was wounded in a battle in the Nikopol direction. Having passed the military route from the foothills of the Caucasus to the borders of the Third Reich, from July 1942 to January 1945, Ali Agha Aliyev set a total of more than 8000 mines. He performed his combat duty in cold blood and skillfully, including under enemy fire. Repeatedly he inspired his comrades for heroic deeds with examples of personal courage and fearlessness. For multiple distinctions in battles and proper performance of assigned tasks, by Order No. 011 / n for units of the 75th Rifle Corps of January 26, 1945, he was awarded the medal "For Courage". In addition, he was promoted to the rank of junior sergeant, squad leader. On March 30, 1945, junior sergeant Ali Agha Aliyev received his second combat wound. In early April 1945, the squad under the command of junior sergeant Aliyev was tasked with building a bridge behind the front line of defense under heavy enemy fire. Assessing the situation, Aliyev moved forward with his comrades and began work. The enemy noticed working sappers and opened a hurricane of fire. Two sappers from Aliyev's team were killed, and Aliyev himself received his third combat wound. Despite the injury, Aliyev continued to supervise the work of the sappers. The command's task was completed on time.
