DATE OF BIRTH: 01/07/1919 DATE OF DEATH: 12/30/2004 HISTORY: Ivan Ivanovich Alyakhov was born on January 7, 1919 in Siberia and very early was left without a mother, who died after a short illness. He was the firstborn in the family, and it was hard for his father alone with the baby in his arms. And he decided to move to his relatives in the village of Koloshichye, Brasovsky district. Here he met a kind, sympathetic woman, with whom he linked his fate. She became a mother to him and three more children were born in their family: a brother and two sisters. In a friendly peasant family, the children grew up quickly. The time came, and Ivan Ivanovich went to school. He was an inquisitive child and had an interest in many subjects. Having finished eight classes well, he went to work on a collective farm. In September 1939 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. And from June 22, 1941 he became a participant in the Patriotic War. During the war he was wounded twice. But after the hospitals he returned to the front again. He returned from the front in the fall of 1945. In his house he met a girl who at that time rented an apartment from his parents, with whom he linked his further life. Three children were born in his new family, but the eldest died as an infant. In the postwar years, Ivan Ivanovich worked on a collective farm, and in the 70s he worked as head. club of the village of Koloshichye from here and went on a well-deserved rest. In 1986 he moved with his family to the village of Pogreby, where he spent his last years. He did not know how to be bored without work, he constantly made something, decorated the courtyard buildings. In the winter of 2004, he was gone. Then, in order to learn more about his merits during the Great Patriotic War, we studied photocopies of archive award sheets. And from them we learned the following. In September 1939, Ivan Ivanovich Alyakhov was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. And from June 22, 1941 he became a participant in the Patriotic War. In the rank of senior sergeant, he was appointed commander of the telephone platoon section of the communications company 1040th rifle regiment. And for many months, he and his comrades laid communication lines between different sectors of the fronts. “During the crossing of the Dnieper River on the night of March 12-16, 1944, Comrade Alyakhov in a boat pulled communications to the right bank of the Dnieper River to the battalion commander. But in the middle of the Dnieper, his boat was pierced by shell fragments, and it began to fill with water. It did not reach 80 meters to the shore, the boat began to sink, but communication was required urgently. Then comrade Alyakhov ordered to pull the connection by swimming and everyone threw themselves into the water. Communication was established from battalion to regiment on time. During the assault on the city of Kherson, comrade Alyakhov pulled the connection to the battalion commander and three Germans met with them along the route. Comrade Alyakhov with a squad quickly entered into battle with them and destroyed them. The connection was again restored on time. And the battalion's leadership of the battle was not interrupted for a minute, because of the precise work. For his courage and initiative, Comrade Alyakhov was awarded a government award of the Order of the Red Star. From a short, specific presentation of a personal military feat or merit dated 03/27/1944. “In the battles with the German invaders in the area of Chikota - Shchetel / Hungary / on March 6, 1945, Comrade Alyakhov proved himself to be a brave, courageous commander. Despite the difficult conditions of the battle, he continuously provided communications to the battalion's combat units. Under heavy fire, he personally eliminated 11 gusts of lines, which ensured the success of the battle. After the enemy went to the rear, comrade Alyakhov organized his platoon to fight the enemy's attacks. And, despite the numerical superiority of the enemy, he managed to defend his lines and inflict great damage on the enemy in manpower and equipment. From a light machine gun he personally destroyed up to 20 Nazis. By a personal example of courage and resilience, he captivated his fighters.
