Born on February 1, 1914 in the village of Mikhailovka, Orenburg Region. In February 1941, the Lychagins' family moved to the Shentaly station. It was here that the Lychagins' family found the news about the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Soon, a new appointment - the head of the Nurlat station. On December 10, 1942, my great-grandfather was transferred to Pronino as a station attendant. On November 1, 1943, Nikolai Nikiforovich was appointed train dispatcher of the railway traffic department of the Bugulma station. Due to the lack of housing, he has to live in isolation from his family. In November 1944, great-grandfather received an apartment, where Matryona Ustimovna moved with her five children. Since that time and for many years they remain in Bugulma. During the war years, rigid paramilitary discipline reigned in rail transport. Nikolai Nikiforovich devoted himself to his work with great responsibility and intensity. Day and night, the railway staff of Bugulma station formed military echelons coming from different parts of the country. The daily formation of trains with soldiers, weapons, military equipment, provisions - everything went for the front, for Victory! Great-grandfather recalled with great joy 1945, when decorated trains passed through their station, soldiers in orders and medals arrived. And on the platform, the arriving compositions were met by a brass band! Nikolai Nikiforovich's working career continued until 1980. His services to the state were appreciated: - 1946 Medal “For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945; badge "Drummer of the Stalinist call"; badge "Excellent Mover"; - 1951 Medal "For Labor Valor"; - 1954 Order of the Red Banner of Labor; - 1967 Badge "Excellent Worker of Socialist Railway Competition. transport "; - 1970.
