A legendary personality and just a kind-hearted person! So will say all the townspeople who turned to her for help. It was these people who rescued and raised our soldiers to their feet during the heavy battles of the Great Patriotic War. Ekaterina Mikhailovna was born on November 12, 1918 in the village of Slizneve in a peasant family. The father of our heroine defended her homeland from German invaders even during the First World War. When she was little, Katya graduated from a four-year school in her native village. But the desire to study further did not disappear, and she had to walk to study in the village of Vyezdnoye, where she graduated from the seven-year school. At the end of school, our heroine left for the city of Gorky, where in 1938 she graduated from the Feldsher-Obstetric School. Her first place of work was the Buturlinsky District Health Department. In order to serve all the patients, one had to get to the villages by horse. In January 1942, the young paramedic was transferred to the Arzamas children's reception center No. 25. Already in July 1942, Ekaterina Mikhailovna went to the front. As a laboratory assistant, she is sent to the field evaco point No. 61, hospital No. 4163. With this hospital, she went all her combat path. The hospital many times passed from one front to another. So Ekaterina Mikhailovna fought under the banners of the Southern, 4th Ukrainian, 3rd Ukrainian fronts, and as part of the 1st Belorussian Front they stormed the city of Berlin. In March 1944, for her good work, she was transferred from laboratory assistants to the position of senior nurse. She recalled how they signed the Brandenburg Gate and how in the field, in non-residential buildings, it was necessary to deploy hospitals in a matter of hours. The government appreciated the heroism of the battle nurse. In 1945 alone, seven thanks were announced from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Marshal of the USSR, Comrade Stalin, to Ekaterina Mikhailovna! Ekaterina Mikhailovna returned home only in 1947 as a junior lieutenant. Her chest was decorated with the medal "For Military Merit", "For Victory over Germany" and the Order of the Red Star. Since 1953, she took the position of head of the first-aid post at the Bread Base, in this position she worked until 1983. Ekaterina Mikhailovna has about forty-five years of medical work experience behind her shoulders, during this period she has earned honor and respect among patients. No wonder she twice became a deputy of the Arzamas City Council. For her valiant and selfless work she was awarded the title of "Veteran of Labor". On the fortieth anniversary of the Great Victory, on behalf of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, she was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, II degree.
