Kokorin Anatoly Vasilievich
Anatoly Vasilievich Kokorin was born on March 5, 1921, in the city of Veliky Ustyug, Vologda region, in a large working-class family. In 1939, he graduated from the Ustyug school of the Federal law school, at the NATSFLOT plant, as a ship mechanic and was drafted into the Navy. Got to the Northern Fleet in Murmansk region. The Northern fleet was the youngest and smallest, but at the same time the most active operational unit of our Navy. The capture of the North-Eastern coast of Norway by German-fascist troops, which had idented coastline, made easier to use sea communications along this coast for the enemy. In addition, the proximity of Murmansk and Polyarny to the border with Norway, favored the actions of the fascist air force. During the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945 the Northern fleet defended the coast, Sredny and Rybachy peninsulas, provided internal and external sea transportation against these bases and the base in Murmansk. The first air raids were carried out by the fascist aviation on the night of June 22, 1941. The war in the Arctic began with massive bombing of cities, settlements, industrial enterprises, border outposts and naval bases. Active military operations in the North of Kola Peninsula began on June 29, 1941. The main attacks of the enemy were in the direction of Murmansk. The port in Murmansk became a gateway through which tanks, planes, cars, locomotives and other materials, required by the country to fight fascism, were continuously delivered. The ship that Anatoly Vasilyevich with the rank of chief petty officer served on, carried tanks, planes, cars, locomotives and other materials necessary for the country to fight fascism. Escorted allied convoys from Arkhangelsk and Murmansk to Iceland. They deactivated sea mines and performed various tasks. The 14th army and the Northern fleet thwarted the plans of the German-fascist command to capture Murmansk and the entire Kola Peninsula, which was of great importance for the subsequent course of the war not only in Murmansk direction, but also on the entire Soviet-German front. Having defended the Soviet Arctic, the army and Navy strengthened the Northern flank of the Soviet-German front and preserved the shortest external sea communications of the Soviet Union with the countries of the anti-fascist coalition. Since 1942, the main task of the Northern fleet has been to protect sea communications between Britain and the Soviet Union, as well as internal communications between Kola Bay and the White sea, the Northern sea route in the Western sector of the Arctic. In addition, the fleet operated in the enemy's sea communications along the coast of Northern Norway, disrupting its transportation. Kokorin A.V. was awarded: - the order of the red star, - the medal "for the defense of the Soviet Arctic" and other medals. Unfortunately, I can't list all the awards of Anatoly Vasilyevich, because they were lost. After the war, he returned to his native city and graduated from the river school with a degree in electric welding. He worked at a shipyard. In 1960 he was transferred to work as an electric welder at the Zhatay ship repair plant in YASSR. Together with my grandmother, Rudometkin Valentina Pavlovna, he had six children, all of them became the decent citizens. My grandfather died at the age of 42, on June 13, 1962.
