Golovin Michael Fedorovich

Rank: Red Army soldier. Unit: the 34th Reserve Infantry Division. I am looking for my great-grandfather Mikhail Fyodorovich Golovin (born in 1902), who was found missing probably near Smolensk (according to the memories of his brother's descendants). The place of birth: Kirov Region, Kirov Disctrict, Gubinskyi Area, Sunchikha village. He was drafted into the Army by Kirov enlistment department on May 6,1941 ( probably in 1942). He did not belong to any political party, and the last letter from him was sent from Rirov Region, town Slobodskoi in June, 1942. It is known that for 2 years he was serving in the 282th Reserve Infantry Division, which was really formed like a reserve, was poorly equiped, the soldiers had no uniform and were wearing civil clothers. They were nor given any warm coats in winter, and I hope that my great-grandfather could survive in such conditions. When he served in the 34th Reserve Infantry Devision summer of 1942), for the last time he sent letters back home. He was sent to the active Army in October, 1942. Since then there was no information about his location. His wife Golovina (Okuneva) Maria Semenovna worked on a farm and raised 5 children alone. She tried to look for any information abour her missing husband diring the war and for many years after."
