Nikolai Ivanovich Soldatov was born on March 4, 1923 in the village of Torbeevo of the Mordovian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. His father, Ivan Soldatov, arrived in the Chibyu settlement of the Komi ASSR in 1930 as part of the 2nd geological exploration expedition of the UGPU. And in 1935 Kolya came to the North with his mother, in the same year Kolya entered the 3rd grade of secondary school №1. He managed to finish only 7 classes. In 1939, Nikolai Soldatov joined a refinery operator as an assistant. In his spare time, Nikolai studied in the drama club at the plant, but the role of Tishka in the play "We are not strangers" by AN Ostrovsky did not have time to play - the war broke out. Nikolai was drafted into the army on May 2, 1942. First - the school of junior command personnel in Vologda, then in September of the same 42nd - the Volkhov front, platoon commander. NI Soldatov recalled: “My first baptism of fire was when the blockade of Leningrad was broken on January 12-18, 1943. Through the roar and rumble of exploding shells and mines, we heard from the radio horn the song “Get up, this is a huge country!”, And this gave us strength. The Germans could not withstand our onslaught, and the blockade was broken. In these battles I was seriously wounded ... ”During the entire war Nikolai was wounded 4 times. The second wound was during the liberation of Pskov in July 1944, when he crossed the Velikaya River as part of the 1st shock army of the 326 rifle division of the 1101 rifle regiment; the third wound - in the battles for the liberation of Estonia in the fall of 1944 (3rd Baltic Front). The last wound was during the storming of Konigsberg in the spring of 1945. Nikolai met the Victory Day in the hospital №414 in the city of Sverdlovsk. In October 1945 he was discharged from the military register and returned to Ukhta. After graduating from the accelerated cooperative technical school in the city of Sverdlovsk, he worked at the Ukhtkombinat, from 1958-1978. - in the Ukhtazhilstroy trust, since 1978 - was retired. Nikolai Ivanovich was a frequent visitor to his native school № 1, a participant in meetings of veterans, an active member of the society of front-line friends. On February 16, 2004, the heart of Nikolai Ivanovich Soldatov stopped beating. But the memory of this wonderful man, patriot of the Fatherland, will never fade away.
