Tukhtasinov Ismail was born in the city of Margelan, Uzbek SSR. At the end of 1941, he volunteered for the front as part of the 94th separate rifle brigade, which was being formed in Fergana. He was a young journalist, but in the war he studied and became an artilleryman. In 1942 he was already a gun commander and fought on the Southwestern Front. As part of the 21st Army of the Stalingrad Front, he participated in heavy and bloody defensive battles for the city of Stalingrad, participated in breaking through the enemy defense on the Don River near the city of Serafimovich, surrounded, captured and eliminated by the Stalingrad group of Nazi German troops of Field Marshal Paulus. He was seriously wounded. In December 1942 he was awarded the medal "For the Defense of Stalingrad". However, this medal found him only in April 1966. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star on September 26, 1943. "During the battle for the Slavyanka settlement of the Dnepropetrovsk region, gunner I. He returned to his favorite journalistic work and until the end of his life he wrote about his comrades in arms, difficult war years, about the courage and dedication of Soviet soldiers who gave their lives so that we live in peace.
