My father Nikolay Sysoev was born in 1924 on August 27 in the village of Telets, Trubchevskiy District. In September 1943, he was drafted to the Red Army. He went from Krasnodar to Gomel in a training battalion. His first battle took place on 14 December in Belarus. He was wounded in the right side of chest.
He was treated in hospital in Bryansk until March 15, 1944, and then was in training regiment. and five Podgorny wrote a report to the front served as the 31st reserve training rifle regiment of Junior commanders is the former 25th Chapaev division after the training regiment was sent to the 2nd Tank Army 66th Tank Brigade of Colonel General Bogdanov of the 1st Belarusian Front. My father told me about the battle of the Vislinsky bridgehead. With the battles he passed through Poland.
He was lightly wounded and entered with fierce fighting in Germany. On April 21, he was sent to reconnaissance mission in Berlin at 1 am. Marked the occupied buildings with flags used 22 flags. On April 24, with five Moldovan soldiers, he was sent to reconnaissance mission, to check the bridge over the Spree River. It was blown up. They stopped to rest. Sysoev was located in the crater from the explosion. The Germans started firing. He was shot in the head and leg. Been out of memory for a while. He was lying in a medical facility. The shard was removed from the head with a chisel and a hammer. Five days, the temperature was 40 degrees and four days of gangrene have taken away a toe. He was alone in a private room. The nurse on duty fell asleep. On the fifth day the right side was inflamed it was in the city of Los Berg. My father remembered that very much wanted wet apples. The nurse brought three wet apples. My father was surprised and now they say that after he ate them it became easier for him. He was in Berlin until 1948. Was awarded the Order of Glory 3rd degree.
