My great-grandmother, Titova Varvara Stepanovna, a native of the Belomorsk Region, lost her son, Titov Vasily Prokopyevich. Until her death, my little, fragile great-grandmother kept the death notification under a tablecloth on the table and did not believe, and WAITED. She had been waiting almost until her death. Year after year, there was less and less hope remained, but she never left her at all. _x000D_ In the archives we managed to find information that V.P. Titov fought bravely in the Murmansk direction of the Karelian Front, in the direction of the 2nd Belorussian Front. He showed unprecedented courage, performed heroic deeds. He was awarded the Medal For Courage, the Order of Glory III Degree, the Order of the Patriotic War II Degree, and the Order of the Red Star. From the place of conscription in the Red Army in 1942, he went from Karelia to Germany, where he died from wounds on May 7, 1945. _x000D_ A dashing and courageous soldier was able to take command over, raise soldiers to mortal combat despite the enemy's numerical superiority. He took the Nazis prisoner, disarmed, destroyed both the enemy and his weapons.
