Since October 1940, after being drafted into military service, the young soldier Sayfetdinov Inayat Ramazanovich was in the 169th Separate Rifle Battalion of the Far Eastern Front. At the beginning of 1942, the divisions of the Far East were transferred to Stalingrad. On November 19, the Division broke through the enemy defenses and, together with other formations of the 21st Army, participated in the encirclement and defeat of the 3rd Romanian army in the area of the Bazkovsky farm and the village of Raspopinskaya. They repulsed the attempts of the Germans to break out of the encirclement, broke through the Nazi defenses in the Novy Rogachik area, the Hospital and smashed the invaders in the city itself. _x000D_
At the end of 1941, the command, assessing organizational skills, fearlessness, the ability to realistically assess the course of battles and to find the right solution and a way out of the situations that had arisen, sent a young soldier, Saifetdinov Inayat, to the courses for Junior Leiutenants, which he graduated in March 1942. _x000D_
The young commander was sent to the 42nd Separate Rifle Brigade of the Central Front. All Far Eastern formations took part in the counteroffensive. Particularly distinguished was the 204th Infantry Division, which broke through the German defenses in Stalingrad. _x000D_
Her soldiers liberated the Workers 'and Peasants', Kozlovskaya, Kalinin, Leningradskaya, Pushkinskaya, Krasnopiterskaya and Moskovskaya streets and at 9 o'clock on January 31, 1943, they met with the soldiers of the 62nd Army on the streets of Solnechnaya, Tambovskaya and the Square on January 9. In the six-month battles for Stalingrad, this Division destroyed thousands of enemy soldiers and officers, 227 tanks, and captured 6,028 Nazis. By order of the People's Commissar of Defense No. 104 of March 1, 1943, she was awarded the title of 78th Guards. A medal "For the Defense of Stalingrad" was issued for the participants in this battle. _x000D_
Further combat took place as part of the 60th Combined Arms Army, which took part in the Battle of Kursk. Front troops in February-March 1943 took part in the offensive in the Oryol-Bryansk direction. During the defensive battles near Kursk in July 1943, the front's troops stopped the enemy's advance for 5-6 days and themselves launched a counteroffensive. In the course of the further offensive, the front troops reached the Dnieper, Pripyat and Sozh, seized bridgeheads on their western banks, created favorable conditions for the development of the offensive in Belarus and Right-Bank Ukraine. For the accomplished comabet efforts, my grandfather was awarded the Order of the Red Star. _x000D_
Then many days of fighting began. The captain's group repulsed seven counterattacks and expanded the foot strong, holding it until the entire battalion had crossed there at night. And only then Saifetdinov, seriously wounded in one of the last battles, agreed to be sent to the hospital. _x000D_
In July 1944, Captain Sayfetdinov Inayat Ramazanovich served as Chief of Staff of the Battalion of the 149th Rifle Novgorod-Volyn Division. He was at the forefront most of the time. And so the Vistula River, on July 30, 1944, four landing boats sailed to the western bank of the Vistula. They had 100 people from the assault groups. Captain Sayfetdinov was in one of the boats as Commander. Under heavy fire, the boats still landed on the shore. From January 24 to February 17, 1944, the Korsun - Shevchenko operation took place, carried out by the troops of the 1st and 2nd Ukrainian fronts. Captain Sayfetdinov Inayat Ramazanovich also took part in it. _x000D_
For heroic efforts and courage shown in battles, 23 units and formations were given the honorary names "Korsunskie", 6 formations were given the name "Zvenigorodskie". He was also among the awardees. The homeland highly appreciated his exploits, having awarded him the Order of the Patriotic War. By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 23, 1944, Captain Inayat Ramazanovich Saifetdinov was awarded the Order of Lenin. This was his third military order of a brave officer.
