Telkov, Vasily Danilovich

Rank: Corporal Branch: Ground Forces. Subdivision: 330th Infantry Mogilev Red Banner Order of Suvorov Division. Telkov Vasily Danilovich was a man of great strength and courage. Vasily Danilovich was born in 1909 on the Alexandriysky sovkhoz, Uzlovsky District, Moscow (later Tula) Region. Information about his childhood and youth has not been preserved, it is only known that he was a candidate for the Communist Party. With the attack on the Soviet Union of Nazi Germany, the great-grandfather on September 19, 1941 was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. Vasily Danilovich ended up serving in the 1109 Rifle Regiment of the 330 Rifle Division formed in the Tula Region. As part of this Division, the great-grandfather liberated the city of Mikhailov and Stalinogorsk (now the city of Novomoskovsk, Tula Region), as well as the territory of the Kaluga Region. In 1943, as part of the 10th Army, the Division fought the enemy on the Western Front. It was during this period that my great-grandfather accomplished his first efforts. From the award list No. 034 / N on personnel: 08/10/1943 in a combat for the village of Bolshakh, Kirovsky District, Smolensk Region, the Red Army Soldier of the 6th Company Telkov Vasily Danilovich in hand-to-hand combat destroyed 9 Nazis, carried out a wounded machine gunner and an enemy fierce machine gun from the battlefield. _x000D_ For this efforts, my great-grandfather received the medal "For Courage". In the continuous battles of 1942-43, my great-grandfather was wounded three times. Later, at the beginning of 1944, my great-grandfather was awarded the military rank Corporal with the transfer to the Headquarters Company of the 324th Separate communications Battalion for the position of Telegraphist Morse. _x000D_ On September 3, 1944, the great-grandfather was on a mission from the Commander to transport communications property across the Vistula River (Poland) to an observation post. Despite the fact that the boat was pierced by a fragment of an enemy shell, thanks to the dedication of the great-grandfather, the communications property was delivered unharmed and on time. For the exemplary performance of this combat mission, Vasily Danilovich was awarded the Order of the Red Star.
