The grandfather did not have to take a direct part in the hostilities, the authorities refused to numerous reports about his transfer to the Baltic or the North. However, he contributed to the victory over fascism. In 1941, the US Congress adopted the state program "Lend-Lease Law", according to which ammunition, various military equipment and ammunition were transferred to the allies in the anti-Hitler coalition. The safest route was the Pacific route. My grandfather Yuri Sofronov became a direct participant in this. He was directly involved in the formation of convoys, manning the crews of ships received under Lend-Lease for further dispatch by the Northern Sea Route to the Northern Fleet. In June 1942, the EON-18 Special Purpose Expedition was formed from the warships of the Pacific Fleet, the leader of "Baku", the destroyers "Reasonable", "Furious" and "Zealous" to replenish the surface forces of the Northern Fleet. To replenish the submarine forces of the Northern Fleet for relocation from the Pacific Fleet to the North, 6 submarines were prepared - "L-15", "L-16", "S-51", "S-54", "S-55", "S- 56 ". Two of them, "S-51" and "S-56", became Red Banners, and in 1945 "S-56" was awarded the title of the Guards. Fascist Germany was defeated, but in the east, near the borders of the USSR, a million-strong Kwantung army was concentrated, Japanese warships impeded navigation, it was necessary to finally end fascism. _x000D_
