Suleimanov Ibragim Bagomedovich was born in 1911, in the village of Urakhi, Darginsky District, Dagestan Region (now Sergokalinsky District of the Republic of Dagestan), into a peasant family. In 1937 he graduated from the Sergokala pedagogical school, after which he worked at the Urakhin Secondary School and the Gubden incomplete school. In the summer of 1941, he was drafted by the Karabudakhkent Military Commissariat of the Dagestan SSR. _x000D_ Since August 1941, he served as a line supervisor, and then as a Senior line supervisor of the cable-pole company of 14th Separate Motorized Rifle Communications Battalion as part of the 353rd Rifle Division of the 3rd rifle corps of the 56th army. From August to October 1941 he had been a participant in the defense of Odessa. For heroic deeds during battles and exemplary performance of command assignments, he was awarded two medals “For Courage” and a medal “For Military Merit”. From December 1941 to April 1942 he took part in the defense of Sevastopol. _x000D_ In January 1942 he was awarded the third medal “For Courage” for exemplary performance of combat missions of the command. Since July 1942 he participated in hostilities on the Main Caucasian ridge. For courage shown in the combat missions of the command by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of December 12, 1942, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star. After successfully completing the mission, he was sent to Tuapse. Since December 1942, he took part in intense battles for Tuapse in the Region of the Kamenistaya, Dva Brata, Semashkho and Indyuk mountains, as well as in the Goytkh pass area. For courage shown in these battles, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner. _x000D_ In September-November 1943 he took part in the Melitopol and Kerch-Eltigen offensive operations. In April 1944 he took part in hostilities in a number of Crimean cities. _x000D_ Also, from March to April 1944, he actively was taking part in the Odessa offensive operation. During the hostilities in the Odessa Region, he was blown up by a mine and lost his right leg. He barely managed to survive. _x000D_ For courage and heroism during the expulsion of the Nazi invaders from the territory of the Ukrainian SSR, by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the guard Senior Seargeant Suleimanov Ibrahim Bagomedovich is awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of 1st degree. _x000D_ In 1945 he was demobilized with the status of a disabled person of the Great Patriotic War of the first group. He returned to his homeland and for several years had been working at the sovkhoz named after Hamid Dalgat in the village of Urakhi. _x000D_ In 1964 he was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor for labor achievements. He was an honored teacher of the Dagestan ASSR. In 1985 he was awarded the second Order of the Patriotic War of 1st degree in honor of the 40th anniversary of Victory. _x000D_ In 1993 he passed away of cardiac arrest at the age of 84.
