Akhmet Zakirov, was born on March 19, 1911, in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Buraevsky District, village of Kashkalevo. Participated in the Great Patriotic W from 1941-1945. He was drafted into the Red Army in 1933 and in 1937. In 1941, he was again drafted into the Red Army by the Molotov District Military Commissariat of Primorsky Region. In the same year, he graduated from the Vladivostok Military Infantry School. The Commander of the Guards platoon, Second Lieutenant Zakirov separately distinguished himself during the crossing of the Dnieper River near the village of Komarin in the Braginsky District of the Gomel Region. Akhmet led a company that had the task of scouting the crossing point and capturing a bridgehead on the right Bank of the river on the night of September 27-28, 1943. His assault group of 20 soldiers, despite heavy machine-gun and mortar fire from the enemy, crossed the Dnieper, broke into the trenches of the Nazis and, suppressing the fire of enemy machine guns, secured a foothold and facilitated the crossing of other units. Guards Second Lieutenant Ahmet Zakirov, in these battles was seriously wounded. After treatment in the hospital he was discharged from the army in February 1944 and returned to his homeland. Member of the CPSU since 1953. Lived in Ufa. He worked as a machinist at the Novoufimsky Oil Refinery. He died on March 29, 1988 and was buried in Ufa. Awards: by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 15, 1944, for exemplary performance of combat tasks of the command and the heroism and courage of the Guards Second Lieutenant Akhmet Zakirov was awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin (#17392) and the Gold Star Medal (#3202). He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree, and medals. Memory: the name of the Hero was given to the pioneer detachment of the Kashkalevsky Secondary School of the Burayevsky District of Bashkiria.
