Several times he went on reconnaissance, and in the battle on August 14, cutting the railway to Bryansk, he was wounded by a mine fragment. By this time, the battalion included 10-15 people. Then in 1944 he went back to the front, to the 1st Belorussian. This time he was in the active army for about six months. During this time, as part of a sapper brigade, he took part in the crossing of the Bugo-Narva River north of Warsaw. The river is 200-250 meters with a gentle bank on our side and with a steep, steep bank on the side of the Germans. The crossing on the pontoons was successful. Then he took part in the construction of a 1200m bridge across the Vistula. Moreover, the construction proceeded under frequent fire from enemy artillery.
