For the heroism shown during the liberation of Europe from fascism, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star - the highest award for special merits in the defense of the USSR. He was repeatedly seriously injured. On July 20, 1945, he was recognized as fit for non-combatant service with a diagnosis of "restriction of movement in the left ankle joint, closed fractures of both bones of the left leg." Became a disabled person of the second group. After the war, he continued his studies at the Leningrad Institute of Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture. He took part in the restoration of agriculture in the Leningrad region, later transferred to Moscow. Nikolai Vladimirovich completed his career as Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the USSR State Committee for Production and Technical Support of Agriculture.
