Izmailov Said Davlyatshinovich

Rank: Red Army soldier Type of troops: Ground Forces, Air Force (except naval aviation), coastal service, NKVD troops, border troops Subdivision: 186th Polar Infantry Division celebrated Victory Day in Denmark. In September 1940 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. He became a signalman of the 186 rifle division of the 71st artillery regiment. He met the Great Patriotic War at the forefront as part of the First Murmansk and then Karelo-Finnish fronts. Here, not far from Kandalaksha, as part of the 205 rifle division under the command of Colonel Boguslavsky, they held the defense. Said Davlyatshinovich remembers the swampy places in the Topozero region. The Germans put forward tanks. They fired powerful artillery fire. On May 15, 1942, Said Izmailov recalls, fleeing from the Nazis in the swamps, they managed to bypass the lake from the northern side. We withstood a terrible attack. They fought in difficult conditions - everywhere there were swamps. the uniform does not dry out. the products ran out. for three days we were on the defensive. We split up in small units and retreated to Louhi station. Four days fought their way ..... Gathering forces went on the offensive. At the Loukhi station, for the liberation of the village, the signalman Said Izmailov received his first military award - the medal "For Courage". Many roads still lay ahead of the soldier. I remember a 10-day hike deep into Finland to the city of Kuusamo. “Believe me,” says Said Davlyatshinovich, “I still remember how my friends and I, the signalmen, rubbed bloody calluses on our backs: after all, the ammunition of the signalmen is not an easy burden. But they endured everything. The liberation of Poland was ahead. 2 of the Ukrainian 3 Belorussian fronts. May 2, 1945 received an order to destroy the German garrison in the city of Rennes on the island of Bornholm in Denmark near the border with Sweden. The task was completed. In Denmark we met the news of the victory of our army and people over Nazi Germany. But for a long time (Said Izmailov demobilized in May 1946) it was necessary to destroy floating mines in the Baltic Sea.
