From 1959 to 1964 worked in the Economic Council of the Moscow (regional) economic administrative district as a senior engineer, and then as an assistant to the deputy chairman of the Economic Council and head of the production and distribution department for heavy industry. From 1964 to 1967 worked in the Committee for Instrumentation by means of Automation Control Systems under the USSR State Planning Committee as chief specialist in technical and economic indicators of the Planning and Economic Management industry. From 1967 to 1974 worked in the USSR State Planning Committee as an expert in the department of education and culture. On February 26, 1974, his father was removed from the military register, and on November 5, 1974, he died.
