Due to his non-worker-peasant origin, he was not drafted into the ranks of the Red Army (Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army), although he increased his age: he burned his birth certificate, and when he was restored he attributed to himself 2 extra years (from 1914). Therefore, in 1933, he decides to leave where no one knew him. In 1934 he came to the village of Vybie (Fin. - Vipiä) of the Krakol village council of the Kingisepp district. This village, inhabited by Ingermanlans (Finns), will now become his homeland. Here he will learn the Finnish language, meet love, Anna Janis, will work on the construction of a road that encircles the Kurgalsky Peninsula (the famous "kamenka" in those places, it has long been covered with asphalt, but every year the the heater appears again). The wounded man lay for about a day, only when the battle went further, the orderlies found him. For almost a year he was being treated in evacuation hospital No. 4074, but he could no longer fight. In August 1944 he was demobilized. When the war died down, the soldier who returned home was treated for a long time from the severe consequences of front-line wounds, this time he received a severe sentence from doctors - disability. Ivan Arkhipovich was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree.
