Levin Nikolay Andreevich was born in 19.12.22 in Inza, Ulyanovsk region of the Russian Federation. Education – 10 classes. He graduated from the Chkalov anti-aircraft artillery school (1942. accelerated course) and with the rank of Lieutenant was sent to the 1078th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment of the Stalingrad Air Defense Corps as a fire platoon commander. He participated in combat operations to protect Stalingrad and its facilities from air raids, including the Stalingrad tractor plant and the Volga river crossings. In December 1942, after the reformation of the troops, he was sent to the 82nd Separate Anti-Aircraft Artillery Division as the commander of a Fire Platoon of a Medium-Caliber Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battery. After the defeat of the German troops at Stalingrad, he moved with the advanced units of the troops of the Western and Southern fronts and participated in combat operations to cover soviet troops from air raids and destroy broken tanks. He liberated Donbass and Crimea. For shooting down a German heavy bomber "U-88" in the area of Dzhankoy station he was awarded of the Order of the Red Star. He liberated Moldova, Romania, and Hungary. He ended the war in May 1945 in Hungary (Budapest, Debrecen) He was awarded of 2 Orders of the Red Star, the Order of the Patriotic War and 19 medals and badges. Since May 1957 until December 1960, he was a division commander of the 53rd Rogachev Anti-Aircraft Artillery Brigade of the KBVO. On December 30, 1960, by order of the Commander-in-Chief No. 01762, he was dismissed to the reserve under article 59 p. "B", with the right to wear military uniforms (with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel at the age of 38).
