My uncle, Grigory Karpovich Pozdeev was born in 1925, in the village of Verkhnetroitskoe, Belebeevsky canton of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (now it is the territory of the Verkhnetroitsky rural council of the Tuimazinsky District of the Republic of Bashkortostan). He graduated from nine classes of Secondary School in the village of Nizhnetroitskoye. After studying for less than a month in the tenth grade, he was drafted to the front in September 1943 at the age of 17. A participant in the Battle of Kursk, which was part of the Artillery units of the 19th Red Banner Tank Corps and the 106th Infantry Division of the 27th Infantry Corps, with battles - along the roads of the Central and 1st Belorussian fronts. He took part in the battles for the liberation of Warsaw, took Berlin. Since 1945 he had been Lieutenant, Commander of the machine gun platoon of the 905th Rifle Regiment of the 248th Rifle Division. On April 25, 1945, during the capture of Berlin, in a combat in the Limberstrasse area, he was seriously wounded. For this battle he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the II degree, he celebrated Victory Day in the hospital. After the end of the Great Patriotic War, he served as a political worker in the Group of Soviet Occupation Forces in Germany. After serving more than a year after the war, he was demobilized with the rank of Senior Lieutenant. In 1947 he returned home to the village of Verkhnetroitskoye. Senior Lieutenant Grigory Pozdeev returned home not only with Victory, military medals and orders, but also with severe wounds to both legs. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, medals “For Military Merit”, "For the Liberation of Warsaw", "For the Capture of Berlin" and "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945." He graduated from the Oil Technical School in the city of Bugulma, where he studied as a driller. Working in the "Tuimazaburneft" trust, he worked his way up from a driller to a drilling foreman. Winner of the socialist competition of the Ministry of the Oil Industry in 1953. In 1958 he was sent on a business trip to the People's Socialist Republic of Albania to pass on his work experience. He returned to Bashkiria in 1961 and already in 1963 the management of the Tuimazaburneft trust sent him to the development of deposits in Western Siberia, to the city of Nefteyugansk. All his life wounds haunted him, but Grigory Karpovich did not give up, he worked in the oil industry for more than thirty years. He was always honest, had fair principles. He was retired in 1983. For his labor achievements he was awarded numerous awards: the jubilee medal “For Valiant Labor. In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin” in 1970, the Order of the Badge of Honor in 1975, as well as the medal “For the development of mineral resources and the development of the oil and gas complex of Western Siberia.” In addition, he was awarded the 50th Anniversary Medal of the USSR Armed Forces and other commemorative medals. In 1985, in honor of the 40th anniversary of Victory, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree. He died in 1989.
