Mikhail Aleksandrovich Gubin

My great-grandfather, Mikhail Gubin was born on December 17, 1916 in the village of Dubrova, Tarnogsky district, Vologda region. This is the father of my grandmother Nekrasova Vera Mikhailovna. When the Great Patriotic war began, my great-grandfather served in the Soviet Army in Siberia in the city of Leninsk-Kuznetsk, in the 570th rifle regiment. He was 25 years old at the time. Young soldiers were immediately sent to the front. My great-grandfather was an private soldier who served in the 527th mortar regiment in the Kalinin direction. He was shell-shocked and seriously wounded in the leg In one of the battles near the city of Velikiye Luki,. For a whole year, he was treated in a hospital in the city of Karaganda. He was commissioned, but in March 1943 was again drafted to the Soviet Army. He took driver courses. He was sent to be a driver in the Stalingrad Red banner Kutuzov order and Suvorov order division., he brought ammunition by a ZIS-5 trгck to the front line of the front. He was awarded the badge "Excellent driver". Participated in the Iasi-Kishinev operation, then liberated the city of Bucharest in Romania, and the cities of Belgorod, Varna, Burgas, and Yambol in Bulgaria. Awarded the medal "for the liberation of Belgorod". He celebrated Victory Day in Hungary in the city of Budapest. Awarded with medals: "For valour", "For military merit", "For victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic war of 1941-1945", the Order of the Patriotic war of 1st degree (March 11, 1985), for bravery, fortitude and courage displayed in the struggle with German-fascist invaders and to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the victory of Soviet people in the Great Patriotic war of 1941-1945, commemorative medals. Grandmother Vera carefully keeps all her great-grandfather's awards. Mikhail Gubin died on December 23, 1994, and was buried in the Potsky Churchyard of Verkhovsky rural settlement of Tarnogsky district, Vologda region.
