Atamanov Matvey Ivanovich, 06/12/1923 - 10/20/2003 Born in Vichkiley village, the Nikolaev district, Penza region. At 19 he went to war. Participated in the Japanese War. He served in the army for seven and a half years. After the war he worked on a collective farm. He had no wounds, and he was not captured. Received orders, jubilee medals. After the war he got married, life was not easy. The family had eleven children. Four died. There are six sons and one daughter left. Even though life did not indulge, Matvey Ivanovich remained kind, hard-working, always ready to help people. In the memory of fellow villagers, he will forever remain a good person.
