Ivanov Nikolay Ivanovich
HISTORY: Title: Petty Officer. Type of troops: Artillery. Division: 28th Artillery Division. Nikolai Ivanovich Ivanov - a native of the village. Zarovnee Pskov region. He held the defense of the city of Leningrad at the Pulkovo Heights, was the commander of an artillery crew. He ended the war in 1947 in Vinnitsa (Western Ukraine) with the rank of foreman. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star and the Order of Glory. In the post-war period, he was the chairman of the collective farm "Stalin's Put" (later renamed "Dictatorship"). In addition to military merits, Nikolai Ivanovich Ivanov was an excellent family man, the father of 4 daughters: Lyudmila, Tatiana, Svetlana and Marina Ivanov, each of whom remembers, honors and respects her father. From the memoirs of Nikolai Ivanovich's children: Memories of our father, even after his death, fill our hearts with joy and some kind of extraordinary warmth. It was, without exaggeration, light. In this person, it seemed, all the kindest and purest spiritual qualities that are still alien and unfamiliar to many have merged: kindness, openness, hard work and, of course, adamant, impeccable honesty - a quality that in a modern world full of lies and pretense, almost completely disappeared from the human soul. From the memoirs of Maria Ivanovna Ivanova (wife of Nikolai Ivanovich): .... The post-war period brought a lot of troubles and destruction to our family. The whole village respected my husband, after the war he was elected chairman of the collective farm, but despite this we all lived in poverty as well. For all the time he did not bring a single stolen penny, despite the fact that we could hardly make ends meet, lived honest and hard work, raised four daughters ... And somehow survived ... From the memoirs of Tatyana Ivanova (Makukha ) - the second daughter of Nikolai and Maria Ivanov: Our father graduated from only 4 classes of a poor rural school, but at the same time he was well versed in many things, including construction - in 1961, a new one was erected on the site of a dilapidated village house with a thatched roof by his father's hands still standing house. This once again proved that the human mind is in no way dependent on school education. From the memoirs of Marina Ivanova (Trifonova), the youngest daughter of Nikolai and Maria Ivanov: As a child, I undoubtedly loved both parents, but the time spent with my mother was not imprinted in my memory as much as the time spent with my father. To say that mother was a bad person? No ... It just seems to me that the heavy burden of this terrible war fell on her shoulders with a much heavier burden and influenced her character. She was strict. What else could you expect? The war found her at a young age, she was deported to Germany and was able to return only to the end of the war. As for the father ... During the war he was never wounded, but his soul was wounded. We were children then and due to our age we did not realize it. Guided by innocent childish curiosity, I often asked him: "Dad, tell us about the war?" But he could not satisfy my curiosity: at the first mention of these fateful years, he shuddered all over and tears flooded this clear and always cheerful face. Then I still had no idea what pain I inflicted on my loved one every time I asked what seemed to me the simplest question, expecting to hear exciting stories about battles and life in war. I still regret it ... *** Nikolai Ivanovich lived a very short life - only 65 years, but during this life he committed many kind and selfless deeds. He even treated his ill-wishers in a friendly manner and without any aggression. And despite the fact that he is no longer with us, he is alive in our memory. Even grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who, to the greatest regret, could not find him during his lifetime, are proud of their grandfather's feat. A feat committed not only in the name of the Fatherland, but also in the name of all the kindest and brightest that is in this world.
