Akhmedov Mammadbagir Dadashevich

CITY: Derbent DATE OF BIRTH: 01.01.1923 DATE OF DEATH: 01.01.2008 HISTORY: Akhmedov Mammadbagir Dadashevich was born in 1923 in Derbent. When in 1942 there were fierce battles for every piece of our land, a graduate of one of the Derbent schools, Akhmedov M.D. came to the city military commissariat and voluntarily asked to go to the front. The guy's combat path began on March 15, 1942, when he was conscripted into the airborne brigade stationed in the city of Orzhonikidze. He received his first baptism of fire in the North Caucasus, when he arrived at the front as part of the 85th Infantry Regiment and took part in battles. Later the regiment became a guards regiment. Here Akhmedov took part in the defense of Steblevskaya. After fierce battles near Novorossiysk, the regiment of the 47th Guards Army was transferred to the defense of Tuapse and Novorossiysk, where Mammadbagir took part in battles with the Nazis. In this battle, Mammadbagir was seriously wounded in the leg, arm and back by fragments of a grenade that exploded in the dugout, and lost his part. Only by chance was he found and sent to the evacuation hospital No. 1472 in the city of Yerevan, where he was undergoing treatment from October 1942 to June 1943. The combat path of the veteran was traced by the thanks of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. The veteran's chest was decorated with 15 government awards, including: - Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, - medals "For Courage", - "For Military Merit", etc. Now there are fewer and fewer participants in the war. Time passes, events replace each other, filling our life with new content. But the glory of heroic battles, where the Soviet people defended the most precious thing in life, their Motherland, will never fade.
