CITY: Moscow DATE OF BIRTH: 12/27/1921 DATE OF DEATH: 07/27/1976 HISTORY: In 1939 he graduated from the 10th grade of school and entered the Moscow Automotive Institute. On December 13, 1939, he was drafted by the Soviet Military Commissariat into the ranks of the Navy. He was enlisted in the communications company of the first special brigade of the marine corps as a Red Navy. From February 23 to March 13, 1940 he participated in battles with the White Finns as part of the 1st Marine Forces. At the end of the war he served on the Karelian Isthmus in the town of Koivisto. In June 1941, his unit was transferred to Tallinn, Estonian SSR. On July 13, 1941, the 1st Special Marine Brigade entered the battle with the fascist invaders. From 24 August she took part in the defense of Tallinn. On August 26, the order of the command was received to cover the evacuation from Tallinn. On the night of August 28, the brigade, which included Mikhail, was ordered to leave combat positions and go to the harbor to be loaded onto ships. But she could not dive, since on the morning of August 28, aviation and artillery began to bomb the port actively. The order was given: to break up into small groups and make their way along the enemy's rear to Leningrad. Over 250 km they made their way through forests and swamps without food. The ammunition has run out. Everyone was very tired. In the area of the city of Rakvere, they were taken prisoner. Mikhail Mikhailovich ended up in a camp in the city of Vilyandi. In 1942 he was transferred to Pskov, then to Narva and later to Pärnu and Sake (in Courland (Latvia)), where he remained until the end of the war. On May 9, 1945, after the surrender of the Courland grouping, he was liberated by units of the 55th Army of the Baltic Fleet. He was sent to Spies Must Die, where he stayed until June 20, 1945. After checking, he was sent to the 149th Army Reserve Regiment to serve as a private. On August 7, 1945, he was enlisted in the Army Guards Anti-Aircraft Artillery Sevastopol Regiment, where he stayed until October 1945. On October 20, 1945, he was enrolled in the divisional school of cadets. On June 1, 1946, he was demobilized and returned to Moscow. He recovered at the institute, after which he was assigned to the Hammer and Sickle plant in Kharkov as a design engineer. He worked at the Ministry of Construction and Road Engineering.
