The front office was located in Moscow. The border of the front coincided with the border of the Moscow corps air defense area and passed along the line of the cities of Kovrov, Yuriev-Polsky, Kashin, Nosilovo, Kalinin, Staritsa, Rzhev, Dobra, Yukhnov, Tarusa, Serpukhov, Kashira, Zaraysk, Ryazan, Kasimov, Kovrov. From June 1943 to April 1944, he fought on the Western air defense front. He was a platoon commander of the 1771 anti-aircraft artillery regiment of the 58th anti-aircraft artillery division of the Special Moscow air defense army. In the summer-autumn campaign of 1943 and the winter campaign of 1944. troops of the Western air defense front shot down more than 1,200 German aircraft from April 1944 to September 1945. he fought on the Northern air defense front, was a platoon commander of the 1771 anti-aircraft artillery regiment of the 58th anti-aircraft artillery division of the Special Moscow air defense army. The front operated in a band over 3000 km wide. The troops of the Northern air defense front greatly contributed to the successful conduct of operations by red Army units in the summer-autumn campaign of 1944. They thwarted an attempt by enemy aircraft to disrupt the frontline communications of the Soviet troops. Only during the preparation and conduct of the Belarusian operation in 1944, 320 enemy aircraft were destroyed. Of the 117 enemy air raids on objects and communications in the frontline zone, only in 7 cases it managed to break through to the targets and strike them. 11.11.2014 Nikolay Gavrilovich passed away.
