Participated in the Smolensk offensive operation in the summer and autumn of 1943. October 17, 1943 he was seriously injured. He was also wounded on February 3 and March 25, 1944. Since March 1944. transferred as a commander of a 122 mm howitzer gun to the 158 heavy howitzer art. brigade in the 3rd Belorussian front. Participated in the capture of Gumbinnen. Commander of fire platoon 12 of battery 158 of the Gumbinnen heavy howitzer artillery brigade of destruction 10 art. Gumbinnen division of the RGC breakthrough. Later, as part of the 11th guards Army, he participated in the assault on Konigsberg and Pillau.
