Kolesnikov Mikhail Ivanovich

Rank: Sergeant. Branch of military: artillery. Division: 294th rifle Cherkasy red banner order of Suvorov, Kutuzov and Bogdan Khmelnitsky division. My grandfather, Mikhail Ivanovich Kolesnikov, born on May 1, 1924, managed to finish school in the spring of 1942. Having received the certificate of maturity on May 30, 1942, together with his classmates, he left the frontline Voronezh to meet our troops. All the boys from their graduation volunteered for the front, including him. Already in June 1942, he fought as a scout in the 281st separate anti-tank division. Since the front was in dire need of officer cadres, he was sent to the Vladimir infantry school in December 1942, but did not have time to finish his studies. In July 1943, on alert, the entire school staff was sent to the Kalinin front. My grandfather got into the 294th rifle regiment as an assistant platoon commander and in September 1943, when adjusting the fire, was seriously wounded in the chest. Wounded, he lay on the no-man's-land in a crater all day and only at night they were able to pull him out and send him to the hospital. In the military hospital in Gorky, he was treated from September 1943 to January 1944, from where he was discharged for health reasons. Awarded medals: - "for bravery", - "for military merit", - "for victory over Germany", - order of the "Patriotic War 2 degree" and other commemorative medals. After the end of the war, he graduated from the Leningrad Higher naval school. Makarov and was sent to the Kerch ship repair plant, where he worked his way up from the master to the head of the Design Bureau. In 1962, in the direction of the city party Committee, he was transferred to the Kerch ferry as chief engineer. In 1966, he was appointed head of the ferry crossing, where he worked until retirement, devoting his professionalism to the formation and development of the enterprise. For his work, he was repeatedly awarded honorary certificates of the Azov shipping company, awarded the title "Honorary employee of the Navy", and awarded the medal "Veteran of labor". Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away in 1996, but we, his children and grandchildren, are proud of him and always compare our actions and actions with his life principles. I'm proud!!! I remember!!!
