Service branch: Army Corps of Engineers. TIMOFEY F. KOSENKO (20.10.1924-08.03.1985). Born in the village of Bolshie Osinniki, Idritsky district, Pskov region. In 1940 he came to Leningrad to study. On August 26, 1942, the Petrograd RVC of Leningrad was drafted into Red Army and sent as a pioneer to the 34th separate ski brigade of the Leningrad Front, where he took the oath on September 5th. He took part in breaking the siege of Leningrad. On February 2, 1943 he suffered a severe concussion. He was treated in a number of evacuation hospitals. On September 7, 1943, after being healed in evacuation hospital 5798, he was sent to the Letyazhsky RVC of the Kirov region. From March to April 1944 he fought on the Baltic front, from May 1944 - on the 2nd Belarusian front as a pioneer assault troop of the 3rd company of the 6th division of the Guard Assault Storm Troopers Battalion. In July 1944 he was seriously wounded. In August 1945 he was released to the reserve in the rank of a corporal. After the war he lived and worked in Sebezh in the Pskov region. Was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of I Art. (11.03.1985); medals "for the defense of Leningrad" (22.12.1942), "for bravery" (06.02.1946), "for the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945" (09.05.1945), "for brave work" (26.03.1970), "Veteran of Labor" (23.06.1981), anniversary awards.
