Klyukhina Tamara Vladimirovna

My mother, Tamara Klyukhina, was born on 23rd April 1921 in Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk Regiont. My grandmother, Ksenia Kulagina, came to Zlatoust from the province of Samara in the early 1900s. My mother had two brothers and two sisters - Maria, born in 1907, and Zinaida, born in 1911. In 1934 my grandmother died at the age of 50 after an illness. The 13-year-old mother, who was left an orphan, was taken in first by her older sister and then by the middle sister. After my mother had finished the 7th grade, she entered the pedagogical technical school, but the scholarship was not paid there for a long time, and my mother had to go to a vocational school to study milling. After finishing school she went to Magnitogorsk, where the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steelworks was built, and started working in a car depot. There she met my father, Dmitry Kharitonovich Karpenko, and I was born in 1940. Dmitri was a fighter pilot during the war and did not return from combat duty on July 16, 1943, right at the beginning of the Battle of Kursk. My mother worked at the Magnitogorsk car dealership throughout the war, and at the end of the war she was the head of the personnel department. She received the medal "for brave work in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945" and all the following commemorative medals. In January 1947 mother married Ivan E. Kljuchina, who was like a father to me. Since 1955 she lived in Sverdlovsk, later in Ekaterinburg. Until 1976, she worked as the head of the human resources department in the Fifth Automobile Repair Plant, which was established in 1946 on the basis of the Fifth Automobile Repair Base, which was evacuated from the city of Smolensk to Sverdlovsk in 1941 to repair the automotive equipment of the Urvo troops. My mother was awarded the last medal "70 years of victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945" on the eve of her death. She died suddenly on 10 April 2015 at the age of 93.
