Gereihanov Musa Gereikhanovich
Rank: Red Army Soldier Type of Troops: Artillery Subdivision: 101st Motorized Rifle Division. The war knocked on every house, brought trouble, affected the fate of many families. Fathers and children, husbands, grandparents, brothers and sisters went to the front from each family ... Thousands of people experienced the difficult years of the war, but they survived and won. We won the most difficult of all wars that humanity has endured so far. The feat of a soldier, my grandfather Musa Gereykhanovich Gereykhanov, I consider the highest. As a feat of all soldiers - victors. My grandfather was born in 1906 in the village of N.Karanay in a peasant family. From an early age, his parents instilled in him a love for his native land, a sense of respect for his elders. And Musa, thanks to his natural intelligence, knowledge, honesty and decency, was an authoritative person among his peers, fellow villagers and in the entire district. When the Great Patriotic War began, grandfather Musa was 35 years old. He could not sit and wait when the enemy was very close, and in August 1941, among the volunteers, he went to the front to defend his Motherland. From Buinaksk he was sent to Mozdok, where Musa studied military affairs for 2 months, then to the front. He fought on the Transcaucasian, Karelian, 3rd Ukrainian fronts. He took part in reconnaissance operations. He, too, like many others, had to experience the bitterness of retreat and the pain of loss of his comrades. He had two best friends in the war - Yegor and Nikolai. The department even called them "three cheerful friends." They went on reconnaissance together, sat together in the trenches, went on the attack. In 1942, my grandfather's friends were killed in a heavy battle. Grandfather himself, by a lucky chance, survived. It is impossible to tell about all the battles in which the grandfather took part, and he did not like to talk about the war. Most often he was silent when the conversation about the war came. Apparently, it was very difficult and painful for him to remember that terrible war. He liberated many cities of Ukraine, Romania, Austria from the enemy and reached Berlin itself. Received gratitude on behalf of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief I. Stalin, his chest was decorated with military awards. After demobilization, Musa Gereykhanov returned to his native N. Karanay, where he was immediately elected chairman of the collective farm. Then he married my grandmother Halimat. They had five girls and one son. One of the daughters, my mother, Umayganat Musaevna Magomedova, who now works at the Verkhne-Karanayskaya secondary school. The post-war years were very difficult. In the village it was necessary to restore the economy. But grandfather was not afraid of difficulties, because he went through the entire war from the Caucasus to Germany, the city of Berlin, honorably fulfilling his duty. Soon he was appointed chairman of the village council of the village of N.Karanay. He worked both as a farm manager and in an educational program, where he taught Latin. Grandfather died in 1973 and was buried in the village of Nizhny Karanay. I am very sorry that I did not find my grandfather, he died long before my birth. But I will carry pride for him throughout my life and will always tell my students about him. After all, the feat of a soldier of that terrible war is invaluable, he is immortal for centuries. The awards tell about the combat path of the grandfather: the Order of the "Patriotic War", the medal "For the victory over Germany 1941-1945." and many others. In the village, probably, there is no person from the adult generation who would not know my grandfather. In the memory of his fellow villagers, he remained a brave soldier, an intelligent, kind and sympathetic teacher, who brought up generations of students who worthily continued his work. Our duty is to preserve the historical memory of the exploits of the participants, veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Eternal memory to them and eternal glory to them! And I have a dream to visit Berlin and see with my own eyes the inscription "Musa Gereykhanov", which my grandfather left on the wall near the defeated Reichstag on the day of victory, and touch their history ... Thank you Grandpa for the Victory. Thank you dear for the bright childhood of your great-grandson.
