Gavrilov Petr Filippovich
Petr Filippovich Gavrilov was born on October 14, 1914 in the village of Pesochnodubrovka (now Kozhevnikovsky district of the Tomsk region) in a peasant family. Russian by nationality. He graduated from Junior high school, then accounting courses and Economics courses, after which he worked in various Tomsk enterprises. In 1936-1938, he served in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army and graduated from the Junior commanders ' school. In July 1942, Gavrilov was re-drafted into the army by the Tomsk district military Commissariat of the Novosibirsk region. Since December of the same year – on the fronts of the great Patriotic war. By the summer of 1944, guards senior Lieutenant Gavrilov commanded a company of medium tanks of the 1st tank battalion of the 34th separate guards tank brigade of the 6th guards army of the 1st Baltic front. On June 23, 1944, he was the first to break into the depth of enemy defenses near the village of Sirotino in the shumilinsky district of the Vitebsk region of the Byelorussian SSR, dragging the rest of the company's tankers with him. Developing success and pursuing the retreating enemy, Gavrilov's crew destroyed 2 anti-tank batteries, 5 vehicles with ammunition and suppressed 3 machine-gun points. On June 24, 1944, on the approaches to the village of Ulla in the Vitebsk region, Gavrilov and his comrades destroyed the enemy with fire and tracks, reaching the Western Dvina and gaining a foothold on its Bank, after which they held the defense until the approach of infantry and artillery. On June 27, 1944, the commander of the 1st tank battalion of the guards, captain M. A. Maksimov, presented him with the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. After the end of the war, Gavrilov continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1951, he graduated From the higher officer school of armored and mechanized forces. In 1956, with the rank of major, Gavrilov was dismissed to the reserve. He lived in Sverdlovsk, worked as a senior engineer of the Sverdlovsk automobile Department, then as a Deputy head of the cargo transportation Department of the Sverdlovsk city automobile trust. He died on July 15, 1968, and was buried at the Shirokorechenskoye cemetery in Yekaterinburg.
