In the area of the Razdelnaya station in March 1944, he was seriously wounded, and spent a long time in the hospital. In the summer of 1944, he returned to service after a hospital and was transferred to northern Ukraine to the location of the 1st Ukrainian Front. In the rank of foreman, he was appointed deputy commander of the reconnaissance platoon. In the fall of 1944 he fought in southern Poland. On January 12, 1945, he crossed the Vistula River in the Sandamir region. On April 25, 1945, units of the 1st Ukrainian Front reached the banks of the Elbe River north of Meissen. The first was the regimental reconnaissance, of which he was a member. On advancing, he was wounded by a shrapnel in his left leg. He was sent to the hospital, from where he returned home in September 1945. After the war he worked as a worker at the Inozemtsevsky wine factory.
