Brezov Demian Petrovich

Rank: Red army soldier. The terrible summer of 1941, the summer when the Great Patriotic war began, is moving further and further away from us. The battle wounds have long been healed, the veterans of that brutal war, the people who help us live, are passing away! But in us, the descendants of these heroic people, lives the memory of their feat, courage, loyalty to the Motherland. This year we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the great Victory over Nazi Germany. The war left its mark on every family. I would like to tell you about my great-grandfathers: one of them fought in the war, and the other was evacuated with his whole family from Leningrad a month before the siege began. I didn't find any of them alive, as it happened… And all that I know about them, I was told by my mother and my grandmother Nina Nikolaevna. I will first tell you about my great-grandfather on my mother's side – Brezove Demyan Petrovich. He went through almost the entire war as a member of an infantry company as a simple private. He did not dream of the title, because his parents – Peter and Sophia were sent to Magnitogorsk as unconscious elements. Their family was dispossessed during the years of collectivization. So my great-grandfather ended up in Magnitogorsk. Demyan Petrovich was born in 1926. (place of birth: Tatar ASSR, Zainsky district, Kaban-Bastryk village), so when the war began, he was only 15 years old. He did not get to the front immediately, only in 1942 he was called up by the Lenin RVC. My mother said that my grandfather did not like to talk about the war, as soon as it came up, my great-grandfather immediately stopped talking. It was hard for him. In 1943, he received a terrible, almost fatal wound: fragments of a fascist grenade hit his neck, a few millimeters from the carotid artery, and in the leg, there was a strong contusion. Therefore, Demyan Petrovich did not reach Berlin, because he was commissioned for health reasons. The fragment that hit the leg of the great-grandfather and "carried" to the death. He had many military awards, but the most expensive for him was the order of the great Patriotic war I degree (award document number: 89). After the war, my great-grandfather returned to Magnitogorsk, worked at a Cement factory, did household chores, everything went well with him, argued. In 1998, Demyan Petrovich died. May his memory be eternal!
