The Father – Fyodor Pankeev. He was called up for service in 1943 (Dzhankoy military Commissariat). Military rank: red army soldier. Participant of military operations on the Tiraspol bridgehead. It was part of the following military units: 12 shisbr RGK (as part of the 3rd and 4th Ukrainian fronts). Combat path of part 12 of the shisbr RGK (according to the description of Lieutenant Colonel Kornev, major Sokolov). Until 13.07.43, the brigade units were fully formed, equipped, and started combat training. Colonel Pavlov was appointed commander of the brigade. 5-9. 09. 43 the brigade loaded into echelons and left for the southern front. On 24.09.43, the brigade concentrated in the area of the village of Sladka Balka. The main task was to ensure the offensive actions of the army to break through the enemy line on the Heidelberg-voroshilovka section. The other two battalions were transferred on 18.10.43 to provide engineering support for the breakthrough of the Karachekrak-Eristovka line. After the assault on the city of Melitopol, three battalions and a reconnaissance company concentrated in the area of the village of Nizhniye Serogozy. The other two battalions that were working on clearing the city of Simferopol also went there. 18.04.44 the brigade concentrated in the area of the Shuli-Mekenziya farm with the task of providing offensive actions of the 51st army to storm the city of Sevastopol. From 20.04 to 12.05.44, the brigade provided the assault on the city of Sevastopol as part of 51 and a separate Primorye army. During the assault on the city of Sevastopol, parts of the brigade made rounds to lay passages in minefields, wire barriers and anti-tank ditches, blocked pillboxes and bunkers, stormed enemy strongholds (Sapun Mountain, Sugar Head). For the assault on the city of Sevastopol, the brigade received a commendation and was awarded the order of Suvorov, 2nd class. From 13 to 20.05.44, parts of the brigade carried out work on continuous demining of the Sevastopol contours. From 20.05.44 to 10.0 b. 44, the brigade was on vacation and engaged in combat training. From 10 to 13.06.44 parts of the brigade loaded into echelons and left for the area of the city of Tiraspol. 23.06.44 g. the brigade in full strength concentrated in the area of the station Razdelnaya. From 23.06.44 to 1.08.44, the brigade was engaged in combat training. On 01.08.44, the brigade units concentrated on the Tiraspol bridgehead on the right Bank of the Dniester river and began preparatory work on engineering support for the army's offensive actions. The brigade conducted engineering reconnaissance, performed continuous clearance of minefields, and made passages in the barriers for passing infantry, tanks, and artillery. From 20 to 31.08.44, the brigade fought to break through the enemy's defenses on the Tiraspol bridgehead and to pursue the enemy to the Prut river. The brigade received a commendation for the Iasi-Kishinev operation and was awarded the order of Kutuzov, 2nd class. From 1 to 13.09.44, the brigade marched along the black sea coast of Romania and concentrated in Bulgaria near the city of Devnya, where it was engaged in combat training until 21.09.44.
