Title: Red Army Soldier Alexey Ivanovich Solovov, was born in 1913 on the Moiseevsky farm of the Novo-Nikolaevsky district of the Volgograd region into a peasant family. In the 1920s the family moved to Borisoglebsk. Alexey Ivanovich graduated from the 4th grade, received the specialty of a driver. In 1935 he was called up to combat service by the Borisoglebsk Commissariat, served as a rifleman in the 135 Separate Construction Battalion, was demobilized in 1937. On December 9, 1941, he was called up to the front for mobilization. He passed the War of the Guard as a Private in the 40th Separate Guards Mortar Division, fought on the Western, 2nd Ukrainian, 3rd Ukrainian, Transbaikal fronts. He drove cars along the Road of Life, drove the legendary Katyusha multiple rocket launcher. During hostilities in the Kishinev area on April 16, 1944, while delivering ammunition to the base, he was subjected to the strongest bombing of enemy aircraft, with a skillful maneuver he removed the vehicle with ammunition from the bombing area. He restored the damaged car in 1.5 hours and, in spite of the terminating enemy air raids, delivered ammunition to the front line on time. When crossing the Dniester River on April 17, with the help of berths under machine-gun fire from aircraft, he kept a ferry on the mooring ropes, abandoned by the service personnel of the crossing. After that, he ensured the withdrawal of cars from the ferry to the shore. For his heroism, courage and courage in May 1944, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star. In August-September 1945, as part of the 40th Separate Guards Mortar Division, he participated in the war with Japan. In overcoming the passes of B. Khingan, Aleksey Ivanovich skillfully conducted a combat installation "Katyusha" across off-road and swampy terrain. For the entire march passed from the Mongolian People's Republic to the area of concentration of troops, his car had no breakdowns or accidents, passed the route without assistance. In September 1945 Solovov A.I. was awarded the medal "For Courage". Aleksey Ivanovich Solovov was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Medal “For Courage”, the Medal “For Victory Over Germany”, The Medal “For The Victory Over Japan”, Medal “For Liberation Of Prague”, The Order Of The Patriotic War II Degree. After the war he got married and worked in a passenger car fleet as a bus driver. Alexey Ivanovich died in 1999 at the 87th year of his life.
