In September 1918, he was drafted into the red army and sent as a red army soldier to the 1st rifle regiment of the Special international division, after which he took part in the fighting on the southern front. From March 1920, he was treated in the 156th evacuation hospital, and after recovering from July 1920, he served in the 6th rifle reserve regiment (Moscow military district) and the University Management company in Kostroma. In October 1920, he was sent to study at the 19th Tsaritsyn infantry command courses, after which, in January 1922, he was appointed platoon commander of the 512th rifle regiment of the 57th Ural rifle division (Priuralsky military district). Since February 1923, Komissarov K. V. served in the 171st rifle regiment as part of the 57th Ural rifle division, where he served as a company commander, head of the regimental school and chief of staff of the regiment. From October 1923 to August 1924, he was trained in repeated courses of command staff in Samara (Volga military district). In March 1932, the division was relocated to the TRANS-Baikal military district. From June 1935, he served as chief of the 1st branch of the staff of this division, and in November he was appointed chief of staff of the 171st rifle regiment. In February 1936, the Commissioners were appointed assistant chief of the 1st Department of the headquarters of the 20th infantry division (Leningrad military district), in January 1937, to the post of head of 1st part of staff, then assistant commander of the 67th infantry division (Kalinin military district), in 1939 — to the post of head of the 2nd Department of the headquarters of the district, and in July the commander of the 67th infantry division. In March 1941, Konstantin Vasilyevich Komissarov was appointed commander of the 65th rifle corps in the Baltic military district. By order of the troops of the Baltic military district of June 12, 1941, the corps was included in the 27th army and performed tasks for the defense of the coast of the Gulf of Finland and the Moonsund archipelago. At the beginning of the War, the corps under the command of major General Komissarov K. V. took part in defensive combat operations in the Baltic States, and then in the Kholm direction. In August 1941, the corps Directorate was disbanded, and Komissarov was appointed head of the rear Department of the 34th army, and in November of the same year — as commander of the 183rd rifle division, after which he took part in the Kalinin defensive and offensive operations. In January 1942, the division was surrounded southwest of Rzhev, from which it emerged at the end of February in the area of the positions of the 30th and 39th armies, but the division commander, major General Konstantin Vasilyevich Komissarov, was killed when leaving it on March 2, 1942. He was buried in the village Lobzina (Rzhev district, Tver oblast).
