Rank: Junior Lieutenant.
On 19.08.1941, I was drafted into the Red army by the Novozybkovsky city military Commissariat of the Bryansk region. By that time, German troops occupied the city of Gomel. German tanks, having broken through the defense of our troops in the Smolensk direction, moved to Bryansk. We could not travel by rail to the city from Novozybkovo to our destination. Our team of 69 people selected to man the internal troops of the NKVD at 23 hours was sent on foot, giving us 3 carts drawn by horses for things. We went to the city of Orel mostly at night. Passed, areas such as Pagari, Starodub. Trubchevsk is within 500 km. Upon arrival at the station Zmeevka it is 50 km. from the city of Orel, we were placed in the buildings of the state farm: a school, a club. They began to conduct classes with us, and also involved us in the restoration of railway tracks after German air raids. In September 1941, a train arrived at Zmeevka station and we were sent to our destination. I arrived in Saratov-2, we were shod, dressed and enlisted in the 121 regiment of the NKVD troops of the 33rd division. At the end of the training center, I was assigned to the team for the defense of the bridge over the Solyanka river. The headquarters of the company was located at r. Red Kut. When the fighting with the Germans began on the outskirts of Stalingrad, an anti-aircraft battery was installed to defend the bridge over the Solyanka river. In cooperation with anti-aircraft gunners, the garrison personnel repeatedly repelled a German air RAID on a protected object, which contributed to the regular delivery of military supplies for the defeat of the Germans at Stalingrad. So I served in the 121st regiment of the internal troops of the NKVD until January 1945. The regiment, in addition to solving the main tasks, was involved in performing tasks to ensure the combat activity of troops within the rear borders of the 2nd Stalingrad front.
