From the small village of Stalinaul (now - Atlanaul, Buinaksky district of the Republic of Dagestan), which is located on the Kumyk plain, 139 residents went to fight the fierce enemy. 66 aul residents did not return from the battlefields with the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War. Six Sungurov - brothers: Abduragim (born in 1898), Basir (born in 1903), Abdulkadyr (born in 1909), Magomedsaid (born in 1913), Ziyav (born in 1915), as well as Basir's son Sungur (born 01.01.1925) went to the front at the call of their hearts. By the way, Sungur corrected his date of birth - he added himself exactly one year, and volunteered. And in 1920, Basir Sungurovich, being a 17-year-old youth, as part of the II Cavalry Regiment named after Makhach Dakhadayev, fought as a volunteer against gangs in the Tersk region. He served in this regiment until 1921, until he was demobilized due to his young age. Most likely, the third of them, Sungurov Abdulla Sungurovich, born in 1906, would have gone to the front together with the brothers. But, unfortunately, in 1936, before going to the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy in Moscow, he died suddenly. By that time, he was not only a comrade-in-arms of a participant in two All-Union congresses of shock workers-collective farmers, chairman of the Stalin collective farm named after Stalin - Daibov Dzhamalutdin, but also a famous foreman, an innovator and organizer of collective agricultural production. In the pre-war peaceful life, each of the Sungurovs was busy with his own business, loved and useful to their family and society. Before the formation of an agricultural artel in the village, and later a collective farm, the brothers worked with their father in workshops, in personal subsidiary plots. And then they worked fruitfully in various positions both on the collective farm and in the village. Sungurov Abduragim Sungurovich (1898 - April 1970) on the eve of the war was in charge of the collective farm bakery. In May 1942, he was drafted by the Buinaksk RVK. He was a signalman. His life turned out to be saturated with the pain of the loss of fighting friends, the joy of the liberated inhabitants of cities and villages. As part of the 1st Belorussian Front, he participated in the Berlin offensive operation. Courage and bravery, love for his native land gave him the strength to finish off the Nazis in their lair - Berlin! Our soldier-liberator from his native doorstep, defending the Caucasus, marched half of Europe with battles, halfway across the ground and reached Berlin. For feats of arms Abduragim Sungurov was awarded medals "For the Defense of the Caucasus", "For the capture of Warsaw", "For the capture of Berlin", "For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945." After the Great Patriotic War, he worked for a long time as the secretary of the village council in Atlanaul. In the memory of fellow countrymen, he remained a responsible person and attentive to other people's pain and concerns. Sungurov Abduragim and his wife Jahbat raised and brought up two sons and three daughters.
