Prokopiy Sivtsev

Prokopiy Sivtsev was born on July 15, 1924 in the Belolyubskiy nasleg of the Churapchinskiy District of the Yakut ASSR. After finishing school, he worked as a Secretary of the village Council until the war. On August 18, 1942, P. Sivtsev was drafted into the ranks of the active army by the Churapchinsky United District Military Commissariat of the Yakut ASSR. He took the military oath on September 20, 1942 with the 584th Rifle Regiment, in which he was a rifleman from August 1942 to January 1943. In January 1943, he was appointed a rifleman of the 649th Rifle Regiment, and from August 1946 he was an machine gunner of the 205th Separate Machine Gun Artillery Battalion. From August 9 to September 3, 1945, the Red Army soldier P. Sivtsev took part in the fighting against the Japanese imperialists and was awarded the medals For the Victory over Japan, Khalkhyn Golyn Yalalt. Prokopiy was demobilized on June 23, 1947 on the basis of the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated 04.02.1947. Prokopiy Sivtsev was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of 2nd degree by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of March 14, 1985 for bravery, fortitude and courage shown in the fight against the Nazi invaders. For valor and bravery in the great Patriotic War, he was awarded commemorative medals in honor of the victory over the Nazi invaders, in honor of the armed forces of the USSR, and the jubilee medal for valiant labor. After the war, Prokopiy graduated from the Yakut Cooperative Technical School in 1951 with a degree in accounting. He worked for the Republican consumer Union "Holbox" in different districts of the Republic. As the best employee of organizations and enterprises of consumer cooperation for achievements in the development and improvement of consumer cooperation activities, Prokopiy was awarded the badge Excellent Student of the Soviet Consumer Cooperation in 1972. For long-term conscientious work on behalf of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Yakut ASSR of 22.06.1987, he was awarded the medal Veteran of Labor. He and his wife raised four children.
