Leonid Yakovlevich Drapkin_x000D_ _x000D_ Veteran of the great Patriotic war, Honorary employee of the Prosecutor's office, doctor of law, Professor, honored scientist of the Russian Federation. Awarded: order of the "Patriotic war" I degree, medals "for the liberation of Warsaw", "for the capture of Budapest", "for the capture of Berlin" and many others. He joined the army as a volunteer in June 1942, when he was only 17 years old. Initially, he served in the Chelyabinsk military aviation school of mechanics, from which he graduated in early 1943. Already in March 1943, he fought as part of the 20th guards Sevastopol long-range bomber regiment. He was a mechanic, then an aircraft technician, served the IL-4 bomber aircraft. His regiment bombarded German fortifications along the Dnieper, near Kiev, in Budapest, and attacked Konigsberg, Berlin, and other German strongholds. Drapkin was demobilized only in 1949, after which he received a law degree and in 1956 joined the Prosecutor's office of the Sverdlovsk region. Leonid Yakovlevich worked in the investigative bodies of the Prosecutor's office of the Sverdlovsk region from 1956 to 1967. Consistently occupied posts of the investigator of Prosecutor's office of Zheleznodorozhny district of the city of Sverdlovsk, then the senior investigator of Prosecutor's office of Sverdlovsk region, the Prosecutor-criminalist Prosecutor's office in Sverdlovsk region. In 1967, in connection with his election as a senior lecturer at the Sverdlovsk law Institute, he devoted himself to the science of criminology, becoming a Professor at the Department of criminology of the Ural state law University and achieving recognition of his scientific achievements at the international level. This is confirmed, in particular, by the award of the UN silver medal "for outstanding services to the development of criminalistics and forensic expertise" and the Highest award of the Ministry of justice of the Russian Federation – the A. F. Koni medal. He was also awarded the medal of the Investigative Committee of Russia "Valor and bravery". In the last years of his life, Leonid Drapkin took part, among other things, in the work of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Sverdlovsk region, generously shared his rich experience with employees, participated in various events. Leonid Yakovlevich brought up many highly qualified specialists who still successfully work in law enforcement agencies in various positions, always remembering their Teacher with gratitude. Leonid Yakovlevich died in his native city of Yekaterinburg on August 11, 2019 at the age of 95. Currently, L. ya.Drapkin's grandson, Alexander Shuklin, is serving as a senior expert of the criminalistics Department of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Sverdlovsk region.
