The kind of troops: the Troops of the NKVD and NKGB (except the border) Division: 3rd rifle division of the NKVD troops for the protection of railway structures (1st formation) My grandfather is Vityuk Gavriil Efimovich. He was born in Kamianets-Podilsky district of Ukraine in 1906. During the Stolypin agrarian reform, he, along with his parents, moved to live in the far East in the Amur region. I grew up, got married, and worked on the TRANS-Siberian railway. He was called up for the Great Patriotic War from the village of SITA in the Khabarovsk territory, being a family man with three children. During the great Patriotic war, the TRANS-Siberian railway was the most intense, the most pulsating railway. On the TRANS‑Siberian railway in December 1941, Siberian divisions went into battle near Moscow, carrying tanks, planes, and ammunition. During the great Patriotic war, my grandfather served in the railway troops, which were part of the people's Commissariat of internal Affairs of the USSR along with the border troops, carrying out both protection and defense of objects. During the war, the railway troops of the NKVD guarded about 3,600 objects on the Railways of the USSR. The guard troops accompanied the train with valuable military and peaceful goods. My grandfather was one of them. Unfortunately, the family was able to save only one photo and a certificate for excellent service, which at the end of the second world war was presented to him by the head of the internal troops Of the Ukrainian district of the NKVD, major General S. M. Fadeev. After all, it is only thanks to his feat that the life of our family continues. My grandfather returned and in 1947 my mother was born with her twin sister. Unfortunately, my grandfather died in 1948 from a serious illness. My grandfather was a worthy man, and I am proud of him!
