Alexander Nikolaevich Kostin

Born in 1926, member of the CPSU. Born in the Leningrad region. Commander of the machine-gun crew. Participated in the liberation of Narva, villages and towns in the Baltic States and Poland. Particularly distinguished himself in battles when crossing the Oder River and expanding the bridgehead. As a heavy machine gunner, he personally cut off several enemy attacks and defended the occupied line on the bridgehead beyond the Oder. He fought bravely and steadfastly, to the last bullet, fought back with grenades, but did not let the enemy pass. Participant in the storming of Berlin and the liberation of Prague. He had several wounds. After that he worked at the Ruzhinsky state farm of the Primorsky Territory.
