Grigory Yakovlevich Khlameikin. Grigory Khlameikin was born on 15 January 1924. When the Great Patriotic War began, he was 17 years old. Having added a year to his life, he left for the front. The Red Army soldier Khlameikin got to the North-Western front. He took part in the Toropetsko-Kholmsk operation (1942), the Old Russian operation, which ended unsuccessfully. As part of the North-Western Front, Bryansk was liberated. He went through almost the entire war, but did not reach Berlin. On April 1, 1945, during the battles near Kranowitz (Poland), he was seriously wounded. He was awarded two orders and medals. He died on 24 January 2000.
