Eganov Sergey Zakharovich

Division: 165th Infantry Division (1st Formation). Sergei Zakharovich Eganov was born on February 17, 1908. He has been a devoted member of the Communist Party since the age of 18. He studied at the Bataisk Military Aviation School named after A.K. Serov, but for health reasons could not become a pilot as he dreamed. Later he graduated from courses for bank employees in Rostov-on-Don and worked in the tax inspection, was the manager of the State Bank for 2 years. In Rostov-on-Don he met his beloved Anna Alexandrovna Grigoryants, in 1932 they got married, in 1934 their son Sergei was born, and in 1940 in Grozny, daughter Eleanor. They lived in Grozny since 1939, where Eganov S.Z. worked as a political leader in the city's paramilitary security department. On June 22, 1941, the Great Patriotic War began. In July 1941, Sergei went to the front, Anya accompanied him with two children. The last thing he shouted to his wife from the freight train of the departing train: "Anechka, wait for me, I will definitely come back!" Eganov Sergey Zakharovich fought in the military unit of the 641th compound regiment of the 165th rifle division as a military technician of the 2nd rank. He took part in the battles for the defense of Kiev, in the Darnitsa area he was surrounded with his comrades and in September 1941 he disappeared without a trace. In his first letters he wrote to his wife: "Anechka, what a beautiful city Kiev, after the war we will definitely move here to live!" He believed in victory and gave his life for the liberation of Kiev. She was 27 years old and was left with two small children during this terrible wartime. All her life she waited and loved her husband as if he were alive until her death. Anna Alexandrovna had a difficult fate, she fully experienced the hardships of the war years, shed many tears over the notice, overcoming the difficulties of military and post-war life, raising two children alone. All the post-war years I waited and hoped for a meeting with my beloved husband, and the "meeting" was unexpected. Leafing through the book "From the chronicle of the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945", she exclaimed: "This is it! Seryozha! " In the documentary photograph he is standing in a circle of comrades (in the photo he is 3rd from the right, his thumb behind his belt is his favorite position) and listens to music before the fight, it is signed "Stalingrad", there was no response to the request of the press photographer for the details of the photograph. But nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten! In 1993, the Kiev Council of Veterans and the City Cultural Fund presented Eganova Anna Alexandrovna, as the widow of the one who died in the battles near Kiev, a commemorative breastplate "50 years of the heroic defense of Kiev." In 1995, by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, she was awarded the jubilee Medal "50 years of victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", in 2005 by the decree of the anniversary M "60 years of victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945."
