Lityaikin Sergey Osipovich
HISTORY: Sergey Osipovich Lityaykin was born in 1918. Drafted into the Soviet Army in 1939. Private. Sergei Osipovich is one of those soldiers who, on the western border of our Motherland, took upon themselves the first bombing strikes of the Nazis. Already before dawn on June 22, 1941, he stood up to defend his Fatherland, arms in hand. Kept the defense. Later, as part of fourteen Komsomol fighters and a commander, he fought behind German lines. He fought with enemies at Stalingrad, on the Oryol-Kursk Bulge, liberated Donbass, Moldavia, Poland from the Nazis. He was a driver, signalman, infantryman, tanker. He trained as a tanker right on the front line. He mastered the business of a radio operator-gunner, a driver-mechanic, a gunner. On one of the sectors of the front, near the village of Chirkov, in the Ukraine, tankmen of two vehicles were ordered to reconnoiter the enemy's defenses. It was December. It was cold. Early in the morning the tanks moved off to carry out a combat mission. One by one, they found the enemy's objects. On the same day, the offensive of our troops began. Sergey Osipovich also took part in it. Later he fought as part of his crew in the battles for Donbass. The Nazis fought desperately for this mining town, they concentrated large forces there and the battles were fierce. The fighting went on for three days. One of them almost became fatal for Sergei Osipovich. In the confusion of the shooting, a bullet pierced his leg, wounded in the chest and neck. The Komsomol card, which Sergei Osipovich carefully kept after the war, along with the Order of Glory of the third degree and military medals as the most expensive relic, was doused with blood. He was awarded the Orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st, 2nd degree, the medal "For the Defense of Kiev". Demobilized in 1943 due to multiple wounds. From June 22, 1941 to August 24, 1944 he fought in the 23rd tank breakthrough division. After returning to his homeland, he worked as bursar at Raiselkhoztechnik.
