Rank: Corporal. Eremin Stepan Mikheevich was born on 07.01.1912, was married and had a little son Anatoly, born 1938. He was called up for military service in 1940. And from 1941 to 1945 he defended his homeland with the rank of corporal in the 79th separate machine-gun battalion of the Army 25th. During the time of military operations in the Great Patriotic War he had no injuries. Further detailed information about the places of his battles, where and how he defended his homeland is not known to us. Since there are no eyewitnesses or witnesses to these events. He told his family and friends nothing about the war, only concerned about the fact that he had lost many friends. At the end of the great Patriotic War he was sent to the Far East, where he again took part in the struggles to liberate our homeland from the Japanese invaders. From the records of the award list of 10September 1945, we learned that Eremin S. M. distinguished himself especially in the delivery of food under enemy fire. His line was twice shelled with grenades, but he supplied food to the fighters who led the battle in the formation of the river Tyumen-Ula, carried his horses and kitchens and moved on to keep up with the advancing units. For this he received the government award, the medal "for courage". To our great regret, no other documents about his awards have been preserved. In the peaceful post-war period he worked as a miner in the Yaroslavsky Mine, from which he retired. Died on 21.08.1983 year. A bright red star stands on his humble monument, and a photo shows his kind, caring appearance and fighting honour.
